Once the Baltimore Ravens released safety Earl Thomas, it was all on again. The Thomas to Dallas story was given a new life and this time it felt like it might actually happen. The Cowboys had the ability to sign Thomas, and Thomas might be willing to do a team-friendly deal given how his termination in Baltimore played out.
Finally, the long rumored marriage would happen. Not so fast.
One note on FA Pro Bowl safety Earl Thomas: While the #Cowboys made some inquiries, they are not expected to be among the teams vying for Thomas’ services, sources say. So the Dallas/Thomas love affair ends here.

So it appears that the Cowboys decided to do some due diligence on Thomas, but for whatever reason they are going to pass on pursuing a contract with the former All Pro safety. The dalliance is dead. Or is it?
Jerry Jones on @1053thefan on Ian Rapoport's report that the Dallas Cowboys are passing on Earl Thomas: He doesn't know what he's talking about. The only one that knows that is me standing right here.

Jerry just happened to be on the radio shortly after Rapoport’s report came out and he disputed it immediately, in animated tones. He doesn’t say anything about the team actually pursuing Thomas, instead Jerry made vague comments about the Cowboys evaluating their roster and adding that hey had not met with Thomas yet.
So it appears there is life yet in the Earl Thomas to Dallas rumor. Stay tuned.
