Today is the Cowboys last practice before an off day, then they hold the Blue & White scrimmage at AT&T stadium on Sunday night. Let’s take a look at the action for today’s practice.
First up, the leader of the Cowboys, Dak Prescott.
Dak Prescott had a nice day in red zone and 2-min. Had a great throw to Cedrick Wilson in the back of the end zone from about 15 yards. Two plays later, another nice pass to Blake Jarwin for back corner TD. Later in 2-min, hit Wilson w/ perfect throw for 35-yd TD as time expired

As well as Prescott getting work done, sounds like Cedrick Wilson had another good day. Of course, it helps to have your offensive line back in tact.
What a sight. For first time in camp, the Cowboys’ projected starting offensive line took team drills together. LT Tyron Smith and RT La’el Collins both returned to action. Smith missed about a week with hamstring ailment. Collins took his first 11-on-11 reps of camp.

Wilson got some extra work because the Cowboys gave CeeDee Lamb and Amari Cooper a rest for most of the day.
CeeDee Lamb did not participate in team drills and Cedrick Wilson got some work with Dak Prescott and Michael Gallup and Zeke Elliott.

Amari Cooper got some limited team drill work today.

Some other receiving options we getting into the act.
I’m gonna keep talking about Dalton Schultz. It’s hard to judge his blocking ability in practice, but he is very active and very impressive in the passing game.

Noah Brown also continues to impress this week. He catches so smoothly and never seems to fight the ball.
Dak wasn’t only passing today, he was using his legs on some designed plays as many have asked for.
this is probably the most we’ve seen Dak as a runner, as well. lots of keepers and scrambles. at one point he even blocked* Aldon Smith on a reverse.

*sort of got in the way
The team was practicing their hurry-up offense today.
highlight of the day was the hurry up.

Coaches put the offense on its own 35, trailing 17-9 with 1:15 to play. Dak guided them to pay dirt in 5 plays, capping it off with a ~25-yard TD. strike to Cedrick Wilson in the slot. he got the two point conversion with a QB draw.
A statistical look at the Cowboys QBs and how they did at practice today.
QB Passing Totals (2-minute):
— Kyle Youmans (@Kyle_Youmans) August 28, 2020
Dak: 19-27 (8-10)
Dalton: 18-22 (4-5)
DiNucci: 2-2 (none)
Thorson: 1-2 (none)#CowboysCamp
There was some defensive action on the day.
In a hurry up, Trevon Diggs almost had a pick of a Dak Prescott pass by jumping the route on a throw to Michael Gallup.

Cowboys second-year defensive back Chris Westry has been coming on lately. The 6-4 CB had one of the best defensive plays of the day on a really nice pass breakup on a deep ball to Michael Gallup

LB Francis Bernard is highly vocal on field, showing better command of defense than would be expected of an undrafted rookie void of spring on-field installation. Had a red zone PBU. Also blanketed RB Ezekiel Elliott in coverage down left boundary. Believe he makes this roster.

A final summation of practice.
Day 11 Practice Notes:
— Kyle Youmans (@Kyle_Youmans) August 28, 2020
-Griffen’s release is ELITE
-Dak was surgical in 2-minute drills
-Coverage was very solid in the red zone
-Diggs pushed Gallup around
-OL still not completely up to speed (even with starters back)
-Great day for C. Wilson
-Lots of reps for young guys
Hopefully this little ding turns out to be nothing.
Trevon Diggs did come up limping a few plays after almost intercepting Dak in front of Gallup. Stayed on sideline but did not return to action.
