Today’s injury report holds some surprising news for the Cowboys.

The Cowboys got some troubling news today in their injury report. Left tackle Tyron Smith had to sit out with a neck injury.

The Cowboys are already struggling at the offensive tackle position with La’el Collins and Cam Erving on IR. The hope is that Smith will be able to go on Sunday, but neck injuries are always worrisome. Cowboys fans remember when Smith last missed a game against the Falcons. Not good.

Also of note is Amari Cooper with the foot injury. Everyone recalls how injuries dogged his season last year, let’s hope were aren’t getting part two of that.

Aldon Smith missed practice today but that was excused and not injury related.

That must have been some dental issue for him to miss practice.

The Cowboys got some good news yesterday when cornerback Jourdan Lewis returned to practice. He practiced in full again today. Last week in the Rams game, the Cowboys used Chidobe Awuzie, Trevon Diggs and Anthony Brown as their main cornerback trio, but Lewis’ presence, if he is able to go, could change up that rotation.

Additionally Brandon Carr will be in the mix, but his reps would likely be at the safety position if he plays this week.
