Injuries are piling up for the Dallas Cowboys as they had to move another starter to injured reserve. This time it’s cornerback Anthony Brown who has a rib injury that is going to keep him out for a minimum of three weeks.
Just what you wanted for your Saturday: more injury news.

The rib injury that Anthony Brown suffered this week has landed him on injured reserve. The Cowboys have promoted practice squad OT Eric Smith to fill the roster spot. https://t.co/nKiT2WcqlR
Brown started the Week 1 game against the Rams along with Chidobe Awuzie and Trevon Diggs. The Cowboys are fortunate that corner Jourdan Lewis practiced this week after having to sit out for a long time with an ankle sprain. Lewis was not listed on the Cowboys injury report on Friday so he is the likely candidate to fill in for Brown.
The Cowboys also have Daryl Worley on the roster and they just recently called up veteran Brandon Carr. Carr is expected to play more of a safety role but could be called on if needed at corner.
To take Brown's spot on the roster the team promoted offensive tackle Eric Smith off the practice squad. Given the questions around Tyron Smith’s health for the game, the Cowboys needed more depth at the position.
