Earlier today, we learned that the Cowboys are going to be without cornerback Chidobe Awuzie for a few weeks. He was injured late in the Falcons game, and that will put more pressure on a struggling secondary that is already without Anthony Brown.
Now we can add Trevon Diggs to the injury report. He missed today’s practice with a shoulder injury.
The Cowboys have Daryl Worley available to help out, plus veteran Brandon Carr is going to practice at corner more this week and could be involved.
Tyron Smith worked out with the rehab trainers today instead of participating in practicing.
He was joined by a couple of interesting names.
Cowboys LT Tyron Smith (neck), WR Ventell Bryant (knee, injured reserve) and DE Randy Gregory (roster exemption) did conditioning on side field today. Bryant is first eligible to resume practice as early as one week from today. DE DeMarcus Lawrence (personal) absent as expected.

Ventell Bryant is a very good special teams player but he’s not eligible until next week. Also, good to see Randy Gregory’s name, he’s preparing for a debut in Week 7.
Missing from that list is La’el Collins so his readiness to come off IR next week is still an unknown.
DeMarcus Lawrence was excused from practice today for, as noted by McCarthy, a “good” personal reason. He injured his knee and only played part of the game against the Falcons, but it will be at least another day until he could possibly practice.
