CBS Sports predicts Cowboys will win Super Bowl LV

The Cowboys continue to get lots of love preseason praise.

It’s that time of the year again, prediction season. Every September as the NFL regular season comes near, predictions are on everyone’s mind. So far, the Dallas Cowboys have been a popular pick to have a very successful 2020 season. With a stacked offense, much more talented defense, and an upgraded coaching staff, expectation are once again high for the Cowboys.

Dallas has not always been able to live up to high expectations, but at least one outlet believes this will be the year the Cowboys buck that trend. John Breech, of CBS Sports, predicted the Cowboys will go 11-5, win the NFC East, and that Dak Prescott will be the league’s MVP.

2. Eagles: 9-7

3. Washington: 4-12

4. Giants: 3-13

NFC East bold prediction: Dak Prescott wins MVP

I’m starting to think that Jerry Jones actually had a diabolical plan going into 2020 that involved not giving Dak a long-term deal so that he’ll be playing with a chip on his shoulder the entire season, and I’m also starting to think that this plan might work. Last year, Dak finished with the second-most passing yards in the NFL and the fourth-most touchdown passes, despite playing in a run-friendly offense. With a more pass-happy coach and even more offensive weapons, we’ll likely see some even bigger numbers from Prescott. Oh, and let’s not forget that he plays for America’s team, which basically means that you’re automatically in the MVP conversation as long as you finish above .500 and I absolutely think the Cowboys are going to finish above .500.

However, Breech’s praise for the Cowboys did not stop there. He went on to predict that Dallas would be the NFC’s number one seed in the playoffs and run their way through the NFC en route to beating the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV.

If you know any Cowboys fans, then you’re probably well aware that at the start of every NFL season, there’s nothing they like to talk about more than why this will finally be the year the Cowboys win the Super Bowl. It’s pretty much happened every year for the past 25 seasons. Although I usually laugh in their face after they make the prediction, this year I won’t be doing that, and that’s because I ACTUALLY AGREE WITH THEM. I think Jerry Jones might have brainwashed me because I think THE DALLAS COWBOYS ARE GOING TO WIN THE SUPER BOWL, and they’re going to do it by knocking off the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Throughout Breech’s mock postseason, Dallas would knocked off the defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round and beat Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Championship Game to earn their first trip to the Super Bowl in 25 years. Dallas clearly has the talent to be one of the top teams in the NFC, and getting home field throughout the postseason would be huge.

Every Cowboy fan dreams of this scenario, but just how realistic is it? Do you think the Cowboys have a legitimate shot at walking away with the Lombardi Trophy at season’s end? Let us know what your predictions are for the Cowboys 2020 season.
