The Dallas Cowboys have only 2021 to look forward to as their season came to an end on Sunday afternoon against the New York Giants. Ultimately the Cowboys finished with a 6-10 record (they went 4-7 without Dak Prescott) which was a whole lot of not fun to watch.

Logic suggests that with Prescott back, as well as guys like Tyron Smith and La’el Collins, that the Cowboys will be far more legitimate competitors in the 2021 season. Of course, they have a number of decisions to make with regards to their football team and what they decide to do will massively shape their roster for next season.

Things like free agency are obviously going to play a huge role in who the Cowboys are in 2021, but so will the NFL Draft. Dallas was aided by a draft class last year that performed quite well in the down campaign as CeeDee Lamb, Trevon Diggs, Tyler Biadasz, and Neville Gallimore all showed things to be excited about.

When it comes to the NFL Draft the entire thing is obviously important, but the first round is where players like CeeDee Lamb are found. It makes sense that Dallas will likely net a third-round compensatory pick for Byron Jones, but those things still have to be worked out.

What is known now is where the Cowboys will pick in the first round. Thanks to Washington’s win on Sunday night the Cowboys are picking in the top 10!

There are a number of directions that the Cowboys can go with their first top 10 selection since 2016 (Ezekiel Elliott). Linebacker is a need as is cornerback, and of course there is always the option to trade back and pick up more capital.

Dallas lost to the New York Giants on Sunday afternoon and as a result the G-Men will be picking right after them at number 11 overall. The Philadelphia Eagles had some, um, questionable behavior during their game on Sunday night, but their loss to Washington is what kept Dallas inside the top 10 instead of one pick back.
