The Dallas Cowboys got back to practice today after beating the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. This week they host an NFC East club, the New York Giants. Of course, the Cowboys will be without Jaylon Smith who was let go by the team on Tuesday.
Part of the reason they felt comfortable in letting Smith go is that linebacker Keanu Neal was taken off the COVID list and returned to practice today.
Cowboys LB Keanu Neal is back after two-game absence for COVID-19. "I am ready. Right now, it's getting my wind back, getting a feel for it again throughout the week." Feels he mentally is where he needs to be. "Missing two games was tough for me, so I am excited to be here."

The Cowboys got a little bit of disturbing news when lead back Ezekiel Elliott had to sit out practice on Wednesday with some knee discomfort. The good news is he doesn’t think it is serious and plans to practice tomorrow.
Ezekiel Elliott on his knee: “I had some tightness the day after the game. But I’d say today I feel three times better than I did Monday.” https://t.co/E8FGt0o3Mz

Amari Cooper spent the day rehabbing his hamstring.

The Cowboys did get defensive tackle Carlos Watkins back at practice as a limited participant, but are still missing defensive end Dorance Armstrong and safety Donovan Wilson. Cornerback Trevon Diggs shows up on the report but was full-go with his back issue. Defensive end Randy Gregory was limited with the knee issue, and offensive tackle Ty Nsekhe gets back to practice as a limited participant.

The Giants had a couple of key pieces missing on Wednesday.
Left tackle Andrew Thomas, coming out of the best four-game stretch of his career, was spotted with a noticeable limp at Wednesday’s practice and was listed as a non-participant on the daily injury report due to a foot injury.
Another addition to the injury report: Defensive lineman Leonard Williams also did not participate in practice due to a knee injury.
Here is the full list of their other absentees on Wednesday.
Other non-participants were less surprising: Wide receivers Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Darius Slayton (hamstring) as well as safety Jabrill Peppers (hamstring) and tight end Kaden Smith (knee).
