The Dallas Cowboys host the New York Giants in an NFC East showdown at AT&T Stadium. The 3-1 Cowboys are certainly going to be the favorite over the 1-3 Giants, and the fact that the Cowboys are at home gives them an extra advantage when it come to the spread.
Our friends over at DraftKings Sportsbook currently have the Cowboys as 6.5 point favorites over the Giants. The Cowboys started as 7.5 point favorites but it has dropped a point. Still, that is not an insignificant spread. The Cowboys are expected to win pretty much everywhere you look. The folks over at FiveThirtyEight have them at a 74% chance of winning, while ESPN has them at 72.9%

As for the Cowboys game, most everybody is picking Dallas, but not always to cover that 6.5 point spread.
MDS’s take: Daniel Jones is making strides as a quarterback, but the Giants haven’t built much of a team around him. The Giants can keep this one close but they’ll fall short as the Cowboys continue to control the NFC East.
MDS’s pick: Cowboys 27, Giants 24.
Florio’s take: Dak Prescott suffered a badly-broken ankle in Week Five last year, at home against the Giants. This game will be his way of proving that he’s fully and completely back. He’ll have a big day, and the Cowboys will have a big win.
Florio’s pick: Cowboys 31, Giants 21.
One to cover, one not to cover.
Cowboys 34-30 Giants
The Giants went from being the best 0-3 team in football to being the best 1-3 team. Their stout defensive line could give the stouter Cowboys running game a test. Meanwhile, the emergence of Kadarius Toney last week, along with a return to form from Kenny Golladay and Saquon Barkley, make New York’s offense more dangerous. Daniel Jones is playing the best ball of his career. While that’s not enough to beat the ‘Boys on the road, a nail-biter should not be a surprise.
That’s a close one.
The Giants are coming off a surprise first win of the season that will give them confidence. However, the Cowboys’ display in Week 4 against what looks to be a good team in Carolina was excellent, as well. The offense is as advertised, and Dallas appears to have a few defensive playmakers.
Giants vs. Cowboys Prediction: Cowboys 30, Giants 20
That’s a good spread and enough to cover.
While the Cowboys are 3-1 on the season, they are the NFL’s only 4-0 ATS team through the first month. Offensively, they rank third in total yards of offense and fourth in points per game. While Dallas boasting an impressive offense — when healthy — has been apparent, what’s notable about this 2021 team is that they are making plays on defense. Trevon Diggs has a league-leading five interceptions on the season and is blossoming into a legit No. 1 corner. As for the Giants, they earned their first win of the season against the Saints in overtime. While Daniel Jones has looked strong this season, I don’t believe New York has the horses to keep up with Dallas. For what it’s worth, the Giants are also 2-6 ATS in their last eight meetings with the Cowboys.
Projected score: Cowboys 33, Giants 23
Another nice score for the Cowboys to easily cover.
