The Dallas Cowboys managed to win their game last week against the Minnesota Vikings with backup quarterback Cooper Rush. They won’t have to worry about that this week versus the Denver Broncos as QB1, Dak Prescott, returns to the field after his calf strain has healed. The Cowboys offense with Prescott under center is a machine and should be ready to roll.
Dallas will have to deal with one issue, the absence of Tyron Smith. In past seasons that would be a huge concern, but with the emergence of Terence Steele the Cowboys now have depth and can run Steele and La’el Collins out there on the offensive line at the tackle spots.
The Cowboys defense is coming off one of their better efforts of the season as they stifled the Vikings offense without the benefit of a turnover. The one fear was that this defense would fall apart if it didn’t get turnovers (something they had gotten in every previous game of 2021), but they didn’t fall apart. Instead they held the Vikings to 1-of-13 on third downs and gave Rush the opportunity to win at the end.
On paper, the Cowboys hold all the advantages in this game versus the Broncos. But games aren’t played on paper.
