Randy Gregory speaks on potential new contract for next season - Matthew Lennix, Inside The Star
Randy Gregory’s next contract may or may not be with the Dallas Cowboys.
It’s been a long time coming for Randy Gregory. The talented defensive end got his opportunity this season to showcase what he could do playing a full schedule and he’s taken advantage. Currently, Gregory leads the Dallas Cowboys with five sacks and has two games in which he’s brought down the quarterback twice. Also, he leads the team with 29 pressures and his 90.5 grade is third for all edge rushers according to Pro Football Focus.
When the 2022 season rolls around, Gregory will be looking for his long-term financial security. Earlier this week, he mentioned that he doesn’t think about his potential new deal too much, but it does cross his mind from time to time.
“I’d be lying if I said I don’t (think about my next contract), but I don’t think too much into it, Gregory said. “I do better when I live in the present. In the past, it’s been hard for me to do that. It’s really crucial for me to do that right now so I can get the goals I want.”
Dallas Cowboys finally deserve all the hype - Jack McKessy, The Draft Network
A six-game win streak has a way of people start to believe in the Dallas Cowboys again.
For years, even decades, we as a community of football fans have put up with Dallas Cowboys fans around the country calling their team “America’s Team.” That whole time we’d listen and roll our eyes, remembering that the Cowboys haven’t won (or even been to) a Super Bowl since the mid-90s. Year in and year out, it seemed like Dallas always had hype surrounding their team from their fans and in the media, whether or not they were great or even good.
This year is different. This year, the Cowboys aren’t just good, they’re great. But this time, they’re not getting all of the attention that they now rightfully deserve. Lucky for them, I’m here to tell you about why exactly this team is so special: that dynamic offense.
I’m not just talking about Dak Prescott here, though he has been a huge part of their success. But on Sunday Night Football last weekend, we saw how good that offense really is, even with Prescott out of the equation.
Calvin Ridley & Michael Thomas moves change feel of Dallas Cowboys schedule: NFL tracker - Cowboys Maven Staff, Cowboys Maven
Upcoming opponents will be missing some key players when they take on the Cowboys.
NOV 6 NO RIDLEY The Atlanta Falcons on Friday placed wide receiver Calvin Ridley on the non-football injury list.
This means Ridley will miss at least three more games for Atlanta.
Ridley is battling mental health concerns and had already missed the Falcons’ trip to London to face the New York Jets in September before stepping away from football last Sunday morning before the Falcons faced the Carolina Panthers.
The move to the reserve means Ridley will miss at least this week against the New Orleans Saints, at the Dallas Cowboys on November 14, and Thursday November 18 against the New England Patriots.
The Falcons then have 10 days before they would play the Jacksonville Jaguars on November 28, marking a possible return date for Ridley.
Broncos vs. Cowboys: 5 things Denver fans should know about Dallas - Jon Heath, Broncos Wire
Knowing the enemy this week should offer little comfort to the Denver Broncos fans.
Does Dallas have any under-the-radar players who Denver fans should be mindful of?
WR Cedrick Wilson is the trick play guy and a downfield receiving threat, though it will be interesting to see if Michael Gallup returns to WR3 after missing the last six games with a calf strain. Terence Steele as noted above has been excellent filling in at right tackle, now he’ll play the left side and if he performs as well there, he could be the heir apparent. On defense, Donovan Wilson is a big hitter at safety who’s returning from a groin injury. Dallas runs a lot of big nickel with Jayron Kearse playing more of a LB role so look for those guys to mix it up a bit and a forced fumble could be on the way if the ball carriers aren’t holding it high and tight.
Jerry Jones addresses Amari Cooper’s hamstring, Cowboys’ ability to adapt - Sports Day Staff, The Dallas Morning News
Hopefully Amari Cooper’s hamstring doesn’t become an issue moving forward.
Is there a concern about giving Amari Cooper a game off to rest his hamstring?
Jerry Jones: “Well, we just left the [bye week], and, of course, that was the effect of that. It did give him a game off. ... Soft tissue is a real challenge. It’s a challenge in these athletes. It’s always been, but it really seems to be one today, but we’ve made tremendous progress in the growth of how to treat them and how to get them ready to play. It’s just another tribute. When you look at these players and you see what they play through, what they play with, how they compensate for it, you understand why the game is as much about availability as it is ability.”
