We are less than a week away from the 2021 NFL Draft and we are pretty certain that the Dallas Cowboys are going to walk away from night one with a very good player. Such is the benefit of having a top 10 pick.
It seems fairly likely that the Cowboys will take one of the draft’s top cornerbacks when they are on the clock and that decision will probably come down to Alabama’s Patrick Surtain II and South Carolina’s Jaycee Horn. There are arguments for each that many have been making for the last few months.
The Cowboys have started to release some of their pre-draft conversations this week (they shared the Kyle Pitts conversation on Wednesday) and on Thursday shared a bit from their chat with Jaycee Horn. Needless to say, this is an interview of high interest considering the team could draft Horn next week.
During Kyle Pitts’ interview the tight end mentioned that Jaycee Horn was among the best cornerbacks that he faced in college. It appears that the mothership is keeping synchronization as a common theme with these conversations as they shared a clip of Horn talking about what he believes separates himself and Patrick Surtain II.

“I feel like I’m the best corner in this draft hands down. When I look at all the corners I feel like the top, the top of the top is me and Pat Surtain of Alabama. I feel like he a great player I learned a lot from watching his film. But I think what separates us ultimately is just... the way we compete, the way I compete and the way he plays. I feel like it’s like a night and day difference when you turn on the tape.”
Obviously Horn is going to say that he feels he is the best corner in the class and he kept his answer pretty politically-friendly (at least during the portion that the mothership shared). Perhaps you want to read into the fact that they are sharing this particular answer, but it really just seems like highlighting some of the players they are most heavily linked to a week ahead of the draft.
Considering that Pitts talked about Horn and then the latter’s interview was shared it makes sense that the Surtain interview could be the next one that the Cowboys social team releases to the world.
We are one week away.
