I did a Mock over on NFL Mock Draft Database. I set Randomness to "realistic" but Trades to their middle setting, "relaxed". There are still standards for a trade to balance out, but allowing for some extra leeway. This platform's player rankings are an industry aggregate - less subject to the biases found on any one site.
Kyle Pitts was available, making our pick a valuable trade piece. I made a deal with the Jaguars - Cowboys 10 and 179 for Jaguars 25, 33, 106 and 145. Here is the resulting draft:
25. Greg Newsome II CB
33. Jalen Mayfield OT - a legit heir apparent to Tyron.
44. Ifeatu Melifonwu CB - with Newsome and Diggs, fills out a strong CB group.
77. Alim McNeill DT - My favorite DT after Barmore and Nixon.
99. Jamar Johnson S - A little late to address the position. This guy is for real, though
106. Hunter Long TE
115. Cameron Sample EDGE
138. David Moore IOL - Unique guard out of Grambling with NFL tools
145. Tyree Gillespie S
192. Jamie Newman QB
227. Ambry Thomas CB
238. Simi Fehoko WR
For the price of trading down to Newsome from Surtain (or in this case, Kyle Pitts) I amass draft picks, totalling 5 on day 2, three 4th rounders, and the top pick in the 5th. This draft fills a lot of of holes - every one of the top 8 here should make the team and contribute quickly. And maybe 1 or 2 of the late guys work out.
