While we will continue to track all leaks and rumors regarding the 2021 schedule for you right here, with the first game official that means that certain wheels are starting to turn as far as normal ramp up is concerned.
Part of this is the betting lines associated with the game, and while a lot can and will change between now and September 9th, the opening lines are here and the Cowboys are among the heavier underdogs in Week 1. Tampa is favored by 6.5 points according to DraftKings’ Sportsbook.

Obviously the Buccaneers are reigning Super Bowl champions and won their title by soundly defeating the champions before them in the Kansas City Chiefs. Their defense stifled the game’s current top talent at quarterback in Patrick Mahomes which was quite an announcement as to who they are. What’s more is that they are returning all 22 starters from last season in 2021 so needless to say seeing them be heavily favored isn’t exactly shocking.
While there are plenty of Cowboys fans who believe in the team’s potential this season, the reality is that there are a lot of questions. The status of Dak Prescott is obviously one that people are going to wonder about until they have some concrete answers and the state of the defense last season is hard to forget. Ultimately this line feels fair all things considered.
