When and how did you become a Dallas Cowboys fan?

Everyone’s fandom began somewhere.

Somehow, some way, you became a Dallas Cowboys fan.

Every single one of us has a story as to how we all came to know and love America’s Team. For many people being a Cowboys fan is something that was passed down by a family member, for others it involved turning on the television and becoming hooked, there are a number of unique and specific stories that led us all to the star.

This is a topic that is obviously unique in and of itself and so we decided to ask someone who has a unique perspective on it. If you did not know we have a weekly show on the Blogging The Boys podcast network (subscribe on Apple devices right here or on Spotify right here) with 2-Time Super Bowl Champion Tony Casillas called The 75O. On Tuesday’s episode he and I discussed our own stories plus those that BTBers sent in on social media.

A lot of the responses that we received on Twitter had to do with falling in love after a certain moment or a game. Obviously there are a lot of people who were young in both the 1970s and 1990s which was a prime opportunity to fall head over heels for the good guys in silver and blue.

With regards to the older days of football, the Cowboys were one of the only teams consistently shown on television (hence the whole America’s Team thing). There is a natural combination of success, intrigues, and sometimes drama that has concocted a potion that many of us have all consumed throughout all of our lives.

So with all of that being said, we are curious to hear your answers as well. When and how did you become a Dallas Cowboys fan?
