After a couple of days away from the field, the Dallas Cowboys returned to work at their training camp in Oxnard. Before practice even started, there was some very welcome news.
Cowboys WR Amari Cooper passed his physical and has been removed from PUP list, team announced. Move doesn’t mean Cooper will practice right away, although he could join team in its “mock games” (walkthroughs). Next one today at 11 a.m. PT.

And to whet your appetite, here are a few notes from Albert Breer to enjoy.
5 from @DallasCowboys
— Albert Breer (@AlbertBreer) August 10, 2021
1) Micah Parsons' ability has been obvious. He'll be a hybrid in Quinn's D—starter at SAM, playing MIKE in the nickel. Gotten his hands on the ball a lot in camp.
2) Tyron Smith and Zack Martin look like themselves. Staying healthy is obv the ?.
5) WR CeeDee Lamb's going to be a star. The big thing is with his increased knowledge of the offense, he can be moved around from X to Z to F more freely. And that's a very important deal for receivers playing for Mike McCarthy.

And heeeere’s Amari!

This also seems like a very good sign.
fwiw, Dak Prescott was just playing catch with an equipment manager at team walkthrough. easy throws from 5-8 yards away.
— David Helman (@HelmanDC) August 10, 2021
maybe he realized the media was at this particular walkthrough, because he stopped after 5-6 throws lol
But we were told his arm is about to fall off.

It may be camp, but there’s still time for a little fun.

Slow and easy does the trick.
Dak did run a series in the walk-through with the fully healthy first-team offense. Threw a couple passes lightly to receivers. Longest throw was about 10 yards. #CowboysCamp

In case you missed it, the NFL is cracking down on taunting penalties. It seems mostly silly, but there is this.
So if Jaylon Smith now KNOWS that the SWIPE can potentially be a 15 yard taunting penalty, he won't do it anymore. This is a WIN #CowboysNation #NoFunLeague #NFL

The unfortunate calculus of how one player’s misfortune can open the door for another.

Shoot this straight into my veins.

INTO MY VEINS!
Biggest throws of the day from Dak. He’s still going through this individual workout with Amari while the rest of the team works on the other field, but he just had a pair of 15–20 yard throws.
— David Helman (@HelmanDC) August 10, 2021
Still wouldn’t call these game speed throws, but it’s not nothing.
Dak Prescott threw about 30 passes as he and Amari Cooper went through a series of 2-minute drill work over a 15-20-minute span. It was the most work he had done in front of the media since July 28. He threw to his left and right with most throws either short or intermediate.

Preach.
Checking in:

- Dak is throwing, less than 2 weeks later.
-Amari off of PUP, seen catching passes from Dak today
- Lawrence off of PUP, participating in defensive walk-throughs before pre-season week 1

Can you have a more perfect attitude than Micah?

If you weren’t aware, this was a special practice.

Rook smack talk from the rook.
Parsons taking shots at Jaylon: "You don’t ever want to be a rook, where you can only go straight, or you can only go sideways."

Since this was a walkthrough practice, there weren’t many of the normal highlights. So here’s another of Dak and Amari, who were understandably the focus of the media.
You cant really hear the crowd, you can barely make out the cadence.... but you hear that football hit cooper's hands https://t.co/jrJfEmBMkb
