The Dallas Cowboys are just about done in Oxnard for 2021 training camp. Today they held their last real practice in Oxnard as they prepare to take on the Arizona Cardinals on Friday night in a preseason game. After that they will fly back to the Star in Frisco to continue preparations for the 2021 season.
Let’s see what happened in practice today.
First, some injury updates.
Cowboys DL Neville Gallimore might practice today after his exit from Saturday’s joint practice, coach Mike McCarthy said. DE Tarell Basham (ankle) won’t.

No specific timetable on FB Sewo Olonilua's return but Mike McCarthy confirmed he will be out the rest of the preseason.

Cowboys still have their third exhibition, on Aug. 21 vs. Texans in Arlington, circled as day QB Dak Prescott (shoulder) could work in preseason. Mike McCarthy: “I hope so. We’ll just see how today goes. Then we’ll get back to Frisco and stay on course. Yeah, it would be great.” pic.twitter.com/y8AsxSbjzi

Will Dak Prescott play vs Houston Aug. 21?
— David Moore (@DavidMooreDMN) August 11, 2021
“It’s not out of the question,” exec. VP Stephen Jones said. “The question’s going to become, when we get there, do we do it or not?
“We’ve got to make good, sound solid decisions for Dak as we go here. But I wouldn’t rule it out.”
And yes, Prescott continues his integration back into practice with some drills today.
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is taking the latest step today in return from shoulder strain. Doing every drill, making every throw in team’s quarterback camp. And looking good doing it. Should be a montage in Episode 2 of “Hard Knocks.” pic.twitter.com/ATrEEKHh7w

More Dak.
Dak throwing to Blake Jarwin is going to be such a welcome sight this season #CowboysCamp pic.twitter.com/KTLzurtwG7

Nothing over ten yards for Dak today. Cooper Rush also back in and participating. Gilbert and DiNucci letting it fly a little. #CowboysCamp pic.twitter.com/WuZffokPi4

DeMarcus Lawrence doing more and more each day.
DLaw getting some reps in (without pads), while Brent Urban and Carlos Watkins each provide veteran advice to defensive tackles. #CowboysCamp pic.twitter.com/bULyku9Led

Trevon Diggs continues his strong camp.
First “Mojo Moment” of final public Oxnard practice begins with a Trevon Diggs pass breakup. Cowboys CB has had a strong camp. pic.twitter.com/18CdxvSpcW

Zeke looking quick in getting to the edge.
Nice hole opened up front for Zeke to have a first down run on 3rd & 4 during a Mojo Moment. #CowboysCamp pic.twitter.com/3iV4x4Eako

Not good news.
Dalton Schultz heading to the medical tent. Pulled up on a route in the end zone. Lower right leg looks to be the issue. See if we hear more post practice.
— Todd Archer (@toddarcher) August 11, 2021
But perhaps not too bad as Schultz was seen to be moving well afterward.
Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz appeared to tweak right ankle area on this play in end zone. Walked to medical tent under own power and later ran off field for further evaluation. Both good signs. pic.twitter.com/hdiUa2OCK3

Can’t be a practice recap without a CeeDee highlight.
Cowboys in tight red zone. Predictably, ball goes to CeeDee Lamb. Predictably, a touchdown. pic.twitter.com/E6fJrO93W2

This time Nahshon Wright wins the battle with CeeDee.
A fun battle between Ceedee and Wright goes to the defense. Drill tied at 2-2! #CowboysCamp pic.twitter.com/3ypybAWidM

Cowboys trying to keep Dak from doing too much. As seen on Hard Knocks, not an easy task.
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is done throwing for today. Passes to WRs Michael Gallup and CeeDee Lamb were his last. Surely, Prescott wanted to keep going. But director of rehabilitation Britt Brown seemed to tell Prescott one step at a time. Process continues. pic.twitter.com/erLfCRhFOw

Nashson Wright still getting love at camp.
In my opinion, today has been the most impressive padded practice for Nahshon Wright. Has contested throws and used his length to his advantage all day #CowboysCamp

Nahshon Wright with another breakup in the end zone, this time on Aaron Parker.

you might not need to look back for the ball if your wingspan is 12 feet lol pic.twitter.com/JYmeIUziCx
Wright just poked out the football near the goal line while finishing the rep against Rico Dowdle. #CowboysCamp https://t.co/LN9f0uecur

A forgotten name resurfaces.
B. Anae getting significant snaps and mixing in with some of the first team defenders. Had a good rep and near sack while going up against Tyron Smith.
— Kyle Youmans (@Kyle_Youmans) August 11, 2021
Don’t worry, Tyron got him back on the next couple snaps. #CowboysCamp
Wrapping it up.
Cowboys’ first-team offense in a two-minute drill, needing TD to win. LB Keanu Neal intercepted Garrett Gilbert. And so it ends. The last public practice of Oxnard is over. Team travels to Arizona on Thursday for Friday exhibition vs. Cardinals. And then back to Dallas.
— Michael Gehlken (@GehlkenNFL) August 11, 2021
That will basically wrap it up from Oxnard for this training camp. Another milestone along the way to real football returning to our lives.
