This is one of those good news, bad news situations for the Dallas Cowboys. Defensive tackle Neville Gallimore went down with injury in Friday night’s preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals. Replays showed his elbow being bent in an unnatural direction and he was writhing in pain soon after. He obviously missed the rest of the game but the concern soon became about just how serious the injury would turn out to be.
Today, we learned that Gallimore will be out 4-6 weeks.
#Cowboys DL Neville Gallimore, who left with an injury last night, suffered a dislocated elbow with minimal structure damage, source said following the MRI. He’s out 4-6 weeks, with nothing torn. Basically best-case.

So the bad news is that Gallimore is hurt and will miss some of the start of the regular season. He could miss around three games if he is out for the full six weeks.
The good news is that it is not season-ending, and there is minimal structural damage with nothing torn. After seeing the replays of the injury, that is about the best news the Cowboys could have gotten.
Gallimore is a big part of their plans in the middle of the defense, and the fact that he will be able to return sooner rather than later is a blessing.
