The Dallas Cowboys have had a long 10 days since their season-opening loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. We have known for over a week that Michael Gallup (calf strain, injured reserve) and La’el Collins (suspended for five games) would miss this week’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Earlier in the week news broke that DeMarcus Lawrence would miss the game after breaking his foot, and it was speculated that Randy Gregory would miss it after testing positive for COVID-19.
All week long there has been hope, however faint it is, that safety Donovan Wilson wouldn’t join that list. Wilson suffered a groin injury as the preseason came to a close that was re-aggravated this week. Unfortunately it has taken its toll and he has been downgraded to out. The good news is that Malik Hooker is set to make his Dallas Cowboys debut.
Cowboys have ruled out S Donovan Wilson (groin) for Sunday’s game at Chargers. Defense will be without three of 11 starters from Week 1, including DEs Demarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory. Gregory was the defensive captain.

Wilson not traveling to Los Angeles.
While this isn’t exactly breaking news, it doesn’t take away how maddening the last week and change have been. It’s felt a lot like everything that could go wrong for the Cowboys has, making this game a difficult one.
Hopefully Malik Hooker intercepts the Chargers like he did the last time he played them.
