The 2-1 Dallas Cowboys will host the 3-0 Carolina Panthers on Sunday at AT&T Stadium. After losing to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to start the season, the Cowboys have reeled off two wins in a row, the most recent one being the destruction of the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night.
Even with a raft of injuries, suspensions and COVID-related issues, the Cowboys have looked solid in the opening three weeks of the season and a victory over the undefeated Panthers would enhance their NFC résumé. The Cowboys offense looks as good as ever with Dak Prescott at the helm, but it’s the revamped defense that is surprising everyone. Additions like Micah Parsons and Osa Odighizuwa, along with holdovers like Trevon Diggs have changed that side of the ball. Obviously coordinator Dan Quinn also deserves some credit.
The Panthers come in as one of the five undefeated teams left in the NFL, but they have only beaten one quality opponent in the New Orleans Saints. This will be an opportunity for them to test just how good they are in 2021. They have a stingy defense, but on offense they will be missing Christian McCaffrey, which is a pretty big deal.
