Poll: Who will be the new NFC playoff teams in 2021?

Who are this year’s NFC candidates to make the playoffs after sitting at home last January?

NFL: JAN 13 NFC Divisional Playoff Falcons at Eagles

Earlier this week we asked you which 2020 playoff teams you thought would NOT make it back to the playoffs in 2021, and the voting was pretty conclusive, at least at the time I’m writing this. The Washington Football Team (43% of the votes), the Bears (27%), and Saints (25%) garnered 95% of all votes cast, making this a pretty conclusive assessment.

Which brings us to our question of the day: Which NEW teams do you expect to make the playoffs for the NFC this season?

The correct answer, of course, is “The Dallas Cowboys,” but as this is a Cowboys site, it’s fair to say that the vast majority of readers would vote for the Cowboys to make the playoffs this year, so I’m not putting the Cowboys up for a vote. That leaves the following nine teams as candidates to make the playoffs in 2021 after failing to make the playoffs in 2020, ranked by their Super Bowl odds.

The Cowboys currently have +3000 odds, the sixth best in the NFC behind the Bucs (+650), Rams (+1400), Packers (+1400), 49ers (+1400), and Seahawks (+2500).

We’ll put all eight teams up for a vote below, even if the chances of some teams appear to be pretty slim. In previous years, 10 wins have usually meant a playoff berth, but with the expanded playoff field, nine wins may be enough. Though for many of the teams above, improving to nine wins will likely be quite a challenge, let alone making it all the way to the Super Bowl.

Who’s your pick to make it back to the playoffs this season after not making it last year?
