The Dallas Cowboys thrashed the Washington Commanders in their 45-10 win on Thanksgiving. The team went into the fourth quarter up 20-10, but blew it open by outscoring Washington 25-0 in the last 15 minutes of the game. The win improves the Cowboys to 8-3 on the season, and the team is now on a 13-game winning streak at home. With their win, the Cowboys have outscored opponents 205-60 in five home games this season.

After a spotty start, Prescott locked in on his targets, continuing his stretch of impressive performances this season. He finished the game completing 22/32 passes for 331 yards and four touchdowns. Most importantly, he did not throw an interception throughout the game. Although he missed WR CeeDee Lamb on what appeared to be a touchdown early in the game, he quickly recovered and threw a beautiful deep ball to TE Jake Ferguson for a big gain.

Prescott played so well that he took time to enjoy a turkey leg on the sidelines, which he recovered from the Salvation Army Kettle after throwing a touchdown 34-yard touchdown pass to WR KaVontae Turpin.

In his eighth season, Prescott is playing the best football of his career. Here are his numbers over the last six games:

  • 5-1 record
  • 148/210 passing (70% comp)
  • 1,874 passing yards
  • 20 total touchdowns
  • 2 interceptions

With no player around the league truly distancing themselves from the rest of the league in the MVP discussion, it is time to start seriously considering Prescott for the honor. No quarterback across the league is playing at such a consistently high level over the last month. However, the next stretch of the season gets much harder for the the Cowboys. If the team wants to stay in contention to steal the NFC East away from the Eagles, potentially taking the conference’s number one seed as well, Prescott will have to continue his elite level of play.
