The time has come for the Dallas Cowboys to leave the cozy confines of AT&T Stadium and head out on the road to a cold and hostile Buffalo Bills environment. The last time the Cowboys had to play a road game was in Week 11 against the Carolina Panthers. Dallas has been a terror at home, but are more of an average team on the road. compiling a 3-3 record. Their offense is much more efficient and high-scoring at home.
Their opponent this week, the Bills, are a team desperately fighting to remain in the playoff race. Overall Buffalo has had a disappointing season as they were expected to be among the NFL elite. Inconsistency has plagued this team and they have lost a lot of close games. They did go out last week and get a huge road win versus the Kansas City Chiefs which probably saved their season for now, but they can’t afford to drop many more games.
Dallas will be battling the Bills and the elements, and their own psyche about playing away from home. If they want to remain in the NFC East race with the Philadelphia Eagles, they will need to win this game.
Let’s see what some other sites say about the game.
The Cowboys have a terrific playmaking defense in terms of getting key interceptions from Daron Bland and others. Micah Parsons can also provide some tough pressure on Josh Allen. Dak Prescott remains sizzling for Dallas and shouldn’t worry about any matchups for key players such as CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks and Jake Ferguson. This also will be a chance to get Tony Pollard going on the ground to grind out a higher-scoring win on the road.
Pick: Cowboys win 27-24.
Some confidence in the Cowboys on the road, but admittedly this goes against the grain of most picks.
This is a huge game for the Bills as they push for a playoff spot, while the Cowboys are pushing for seeding. Both offenses have had success lately, but the Cowboys have really amped it up. I think the Bills’ desperation will trump the Cowboys playing for a seed. Dallas is in, but Buffalo will get there. They start by winning a shootout here. Josh Allen beats Dak Prescott.
Pick: Bills 33, Cowboys 30
This is more like what you generally see for this game, although the point total is higher than most. The Bills are being favored more than they are not.
Lorenzo Reyes: Cowboys 24, Bills 20
Even with this game in Buffalo and there being the chance for potential windy conditions, it’s a little surprising to see the Cowboys getting points. Dallas is 9-4 against the spread this season, the best in the NFL. They’ve covered six of their last eight. And they can force turnovers, which is an issue Josh Allen hasn’t been able to solve.
Tyler Dragon: Bills 26, Cowboys 24
Brandon Aubrey is an asset. He’s made an NFL record of 30 consecutive field goals without a miss. The Cowboys are the hottest team in the NFC not named the 49ers. The Cowboys’ next two games (at Buffalo and at Miami) are significant tests on the road. The Bills are going to be tough to beat in Buffalo. Josh Allen and the Bills are coming off an emotional win in Kansas City.
A split decision here.
The Cowboys have been unstoppable at home, but they are 3-3 on the road. Buffalo has to win this game to help its playoff chances. The Bills will win a shootout.
Prediction: Bills 31, Cowboys 28
One more for the Bills.
