The Cowboys are getting closer to kickoff for their first road game in nearly a full month, taking on the Bills in a Highmark Stadium environment that is expected to get some rain throughout the day. On top of that, the Cowboys have several players that were dealing with a stomach bug this week, and now we know their game statuses.

The biggest news is Malik Hooker, who was limited in practice with an ankle injury and listed as questionable for this game. He has been ruled out and is inactive for this game, a big blow for this defense as it prepares to face Josh Allen and a Bills offense that loves to take deep shots.

Elsewhere, nose tackle Johnathan Hankins was ruled out earlier in the week after suffering an ankle injury in last week’s game. Rookie Mazi Smith is expected to garner a large role in his absence, and Carl Davis was also elevated from the practice squad for this game.

As for the players dealing with a sickness, four different players were listed on the injury report with an illness. All four of them - Brandin Cooks, Jalen Tolbert, Stephon Gilmore, and Micah Parsons - are active and expected to play today as normal. In addition to Hooker and Hankins, other inactives include Jalen Brooks, Deuce Vaughn, Asim Richards, Eric Scott Jr., and designated emergency quarterback Trey Lance.

As for the Bills, they ruled out two of their main contributors on defense earlier in the week in EDGE A.J. Epenesa and safety Micah Hyde. Epenesa is one of Buffalo’s top edge rushers, currently third on the team in sacks, while Hyde is one of the most seasoned leaders in this secondary.
