Week 16 Madden simulation predicts comfortable Cowboys win over Dolphins

Madden believes the Cowboys will make quick work of the Dolphins on Christmas Eve.

The Dallas Cowboys are set to visit the Miami Dolphins on Sunday afternoon in a game that feels a bit hard to predict. Both the Cowboys and Dolphins have suffered from people not believing in the quality of wins this season. As they both have 10 victories to their name entering the Christmas Eve matchup only one can walk away with something shiny to add to their collection in terms of “impressive” wins this year.

From the beginning the Dolphins have been favored by oddsmakers, although minimally so, which marks the second week in a row that Dallas has been the underdog. It is not uncommon to be an underdog on the road, especially when you are a team that struggles to win away from your home building the way that the Cowboys have against top-tier competition.

In an effort to try and predict the future, we did what we always do and ran a simulation of the game through Madden 24. The game believes that Dallas will win rather comfortably, 31-10 of all scores, which just so happens to be the score that they lost by last week.

Please note that this simulation was run prior to Friday’s news or injury announcements.
Notable Madden statistics
  • Dak Prescott: 20 of 24, 267 passing yards, 2 passing touchdowns
  • Tony Pollard: 14 carries, 90 yards, 1 touchdown
  • Hunter Luepke: 1 carry on the goal line for a 1-yard touchdown
  • Brandin Cooks: 9 receptions, 78 yards
  • CeeDee Lamb: 5 receptions: 62 yards, 1 touchdown
  • Michael Gallup: 5 receptions, 119 yards, 1 touchdown
  • DeMarcus Lawrence had the lone sack
  • Stephon Gilmore had the only takeaways with 2 interceptions

The Cowboys were in strong control throughout the entire simulation and swung the game in massive directions on both Stephon Gilmore interceptions. Offensively things returned to form as Dak Prescott had great success and Hunter Luepke even found the endzone!

As noted, Madden predicted the exact score that Dallas lost by last week which will surely make some people feel uneasy. Consider that the game does not exactly have a strong bit of consistency when it comes to predicting Dallas games this season.

Here’s hoping that Madden got this one right in every single way and that the Cowboys have an easy win where we do not have to stress at all.

That would make quite the merry Christmas.
