Cowboys at Dolphins inactives: Zack Martin active, Tyron Smith out

The Cowboys offensive line depth will be tested in Miami

The Dallas Cowboys are getting ready to kick things off against the Dolphins in Miami. After some consternation about several of their players, especially along the offensive line, we now have some clarity on who will be playing in this Christmas Eve matchup:

Tyron Smith was initially listed as doubtful after missing practice all week with a back injury. However, he was later downgraded to out, placing him alongside Johnathan Hankins on the inactive list. Hankins is missing his second straight game after suffering an ankle injury against the Eagles.

Three other Cowboys players were listed as questionable coming into this one. The most notable was Zack Martin, who was limited on Friday after missing the previous days’ practices. Martin is active and expected to play, as is Malik Hooker after missing last week’s game.

In addition to Smith and Hankins, the inactives list also includes Deuce Vaughn, Jalen Brooks, Eric Scott Jr., Noah Igbinoghene, and Trey Lance. As has been customary all year, Lance is the designated emergency quarterback.

The Dolphins had several questionable players of their own, highlighted by superstar receiver Tyreek Hill. While Hill is active and expected to play, Miami is without several starters today: guard Robert Hunt, edge rusher Emmanuel Ogbah, and star safety Jevon Holland.
