The Dallas Cowboys are officially back at work on this fine Wednesday and preparing for a rather big game on Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.

As it happens Wednesday’s practice will not be overseen by head coach Mike McCarthy and instead will be run by the team’s coordinators. Mike McCarthy is reportedly dealing with appendicitis and slated for surgery on Wednesday, although he is expected to coach on Sunday night as of this moment.

Most people’s experience with appendicitis is pretty standard as the appendix is removed and the patient is discharged in a fairly orderly manner to head home and heal. I am not a doctor nor an expert on the appendix, but I did have my own removed when I was 13 after it ruptured but as that was the case it was a bit more extensive than a normal experience.

It seems as if the Cowboys caught this earlier in the process though and that McCarthy is on the best track that he can be. All the best to him throughout surgery and the healing process, his health is obviously the most important thing involved here.
