Our picks are in for Wild Card Weekend as well as Sunday’s matchup for the Cowboys.

We now enter the ‘do-or-die’ portion of the NFL schedule. There are no more ‘getting them next week, learning from our mistakes, we’ll come back stronger next week’ maxims to throw around. The Dallas Cowboys must survive and move on in any way possible. The first step on their road to playoff redemption is a game against the Green Bay Packers.

The Cowboys are the favorites at home, a place where they have played exceptionally well, So well in fact, they haven't lost in their last 16 home games. Not only do they win at home, but they usually score a ton of points. It’s a tough spot for a young and inexperienced Packers team. DraftKings Sportsbook has the Cowboys as 7.5-point favorites over the Packers.

Let’s see what some other sites say about the game.

CBS Sports

This should be a high-flying affair with both offenses rolling up big numbers. I think Jordan Love is playing outstanding football and Dak Prescott is as well. The pressure is firmly on Prescott and the Cowboys. That’s why I see the loose Packers and Love making a game of this. The Cowboys will win it, but it’s close.

Pick: Cowboys 33, Packers 31

Let’s hope the game isn’t as close as this prediction. The last two Cowboys versus Packers playoff games have been close heartbreaking losses for Dallas, we don’t need something like that again.

Sporting News

The Cowboys were destroying teams in Dallas this season until the Seahawks and Lions and pushed them to the brink. They still were the only team to finish 8-0 at home. Although some will see this as the Packers getting a crack at Mike McCarthy, don’t forget the reverse motivation. McCarthy has found a good rebound in Dallas, while Matt LaFleur, despite also having some big regular seasons with Aaron Rodgers, hasn’t seen the playoff breakthrough.

Jordan Love has a promising career as Rodgers’ successor and he gave Green Bay a ton of long-term confidence this season. But he’s also young and can be mistake-prone and is also operating with inexperienced receivers. The Cowboys’ pass rush and secondary is well positioned to make key stops here. Meanwhile, the Packers’ messy pass defense returns as Dak Prescott picks it apart with plenty more of CeeDee Lamb and a variety of downfield targets.

Pick: Cowboys win 33-17 and cover the spread.

This is more like it, a blowout game where Dallas easily covers the touchdown spread.

This game will come down to whether the Packers use the same defensive blueprint that the Lions had in Week 17. In that matchup, Detroit became the first team all season to hold the Cowboys to under 30 points at AT&T Stadium.

Love should be able to do enough here to keep this game close throughout but in the end Dallas wins, though doesn’t cover this slightly more-than-a touchdown spread on Sunday. Another close game prediction.

While Love doesn’t make a ton of mistakes, I’m not certain he’s ready for THIS. He has gone through a stretch of 5 weeks against a bunch of mediocre (at best) teams and came out of it 3-2. Sure, beating Detroit and Kansas City before that were nice, but winning at Jerry World is a different animal.

Meanwhile, we know how successful Dak and company have been early in the playoffs. (We’ll figure out what happens with them as they go further in coming columns.) And when it comes down to it, the Cowboys offense is just too much for the Packers’ D.

I do not like that hook on the -7, which likely will keep me away from playing this straight up, but potentially with McCarthy’s job on the line if they were to be upset, it would be a surprise to not see a fantastic game plan here.

Score: Cowboys 30, Packers 19

And then once again, a Cowboys comfortable victory. This is what we want.
