Who would’ve seen this coming? Entering Week 18, the Dallas Cowboys can win the NFC East with a win against the Washington Commanders. The Eagles’ late-season skid has opened the door for the Cowboys to take the division and host a home playoff game, where the Cowboys have gone undefeated this season.

On Wednesday, the Cowboys activated Viliami Fehoko from injured reserve. In a corresponding move, the Cowboys placed Deuce Vaughn on injured reserve.

Tyler Smith did not practice Wednesday after tearing his plantar fascia against the Detroit Lions. The team is optimistic about a speedy recovery for Smith, and there is some hope that Smith can play against Washington. Safety Malik Hooker did not practice Wednesday with an an ankle/illness.

Rico Dowdle was back at practice in his return from an ankle injury that kept him out of the Lions game. Jonathan Hankins returned to practice in a limited fashion, also with an ankle injury. Hankins hasn’t played since Week 14, and his return would improve the running defense. As has been the case all season, the Cowboys gave several veterans the day off to rest. Among those resting were Zack Martin, Tyron Smith, Brandin Cooks, Stephon Gilmore, and Tyron Smith.
