NFL’s Career Development Advisory Panel releases a list each year of deserving coaches to become a head coach. Linehan made the preliminary list, which will be finalized on Dec. 10th. The other coaches included were: Michigan's Jim Harbaugh, Lions DC Teryl Austin, Cardinals OC Harold Goodwin, Patriots DC Matt Patricia, and Dolphins DC Vance Joseph. The panel consists of Tony Dungy, Charley Casserly, Carl Peterson, Bill Polian, Jimmy Raye Sr., James "Shack" Harris, Ernie Accorsi, Dick Daniels, and John Madden.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Sunday the club will activate running back Darren McFadden from the non-football injury list this week. "He looks to be healthy," Jones said, "and we'll have him up at some point."

A field of 94 nominees for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2017 was condensed to 26 candidates on Wednesday during NFL Network's Gold Jacket Semifinalists special. The 26 semifinalists will be trimmed to 15 finalists in early January. The current group includes 15 offensive stars, eight defensive stalwarts, two coaches and one kicker.
