During the Class 6A-Division II final, the UIL announced the addition of several members to the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame. Former A&M All-American linebacker Dat Nguyen was inducted, representing the 1990s. A standout linebacker at Rockport-Fulton, Nguyen was also an all-state punter in 1994. Nguyen started 51 consecutive games at A&M and is still the school's all-time leading tackler with 517 stops - 62 more than the next-highest total. He was a three-time All-Big 12 selection and won the Lombardi Award in 1998. He was named to the All-Rookie team with the Cowboys in 1998 and was a second-team All-Pro in 2003 before being forced to retire due to injuries. Nguyen returned to Aggieland in 2010 and 2011 to serve as the A&M inside linebackers coach.

OT: Craig Sager Dies at 65

Craig Sager is one to be respected as a sideline reporter, even if he had an habit of wearing loud suits. The only regret for everybody is that he wasn't employed on an NFL telecast.

Foxworth's All 22 Analysis: Giants blitzes "weren't well disguised", Romo return needed for playoff success

"To be clear, I am a Prescott fan, but I believe his limitations can cost the Cowboys in the playoffs. In this game, the Giants confused the Cowboys’ protections with zone blitzes, and dropped defensive linemen into the passing lanes of Prescott’s hot receivers. The blitzes weren’t particularly well-disguised. If Prescott were to ignore the pre-snap alignments of the D-line and linebackers and focus on the alignment of the secondary players, it would have been clear where the blitz was coming from. Especially as the game progressed, the cornerbacks and safeties were lining up steps behind the blitzers so they could pick up the vacated coverage responsibility. I could be wrong, but I believe that Romo, a 14-year NFL veteran quarterback, has seen every blitz that NFL defenses have to offer. In fairness to Prescott, the running game will suffer without him. On a couple of occasions during this game, I saw defenders step toward Prescott, respecting his ability to run the zone read, only to see the NFL’s leading rusher, Elliott, carry the ball into their secondary."

Lee can cash in bonus time soon

The final week of the season can create an interesting dilemma for teams that have players with incentives and salary escalators hanging in the balance. Resting a player with money on the line to preserve him for the postseason or to evaluate unproven players on teams out of playoff contention can create friction between the locker room and the team's coaches and front office.
