Meddling owner?

There's a line in there about the owner overruling the head coach on whether to keep the OC or not. Imagine if that happened with the Cowboys what the headline would be. Oh the double standard....

Did the Pats find a new way to cheat to make the Ravens kicker miss Sunday?

13

The Ravens (ex Cowboy) FG kicker missed the FG at the end of the game Sunday to give the Pats the win. People talked about how/why was he rushing out onto the field with only 15 seconds left on the play clock instead of being out there on time. He was running up, kicking fast and pulled it wide left. Now we see the rest of the story. It seems that Cundiff has a very specific things he does on 1st, 2nd and 3rd down every time they are in FG position to prepare himself mentally to kick a FG. He keeps a close eye on the scoreboard to make sure he knows the down and is ready. He stays well down the sideline away from the rest of the team and goes down his checklist of steps. He was doing this Sunday in case he got the chance to tie the game and send it into OT. Yet somehow, someway the scoreboard of the Pats /cough, malfunctioned. On 1st down it showed down #1, on 2nd down it still showed down #1, so Billy does his 1st down prep. On down 3 it read #2, so Billy does his 2nd down prep. On down 4 with the rest of the FG unit on the field the scoreboard shows it is 3rd down. Billy starts his 3rd down prep and suddenly everyone is yelling at him and running at him telling him to get on the field. Huh? What? Routine totally screwed, upset, running onto the field at the last second he is rushed into the kick and pulls it. Pats win. Accident or subtle plot? That is for you to decide.

Raf and Wes talk about Shrine game standouts for the Boys.

WB has downgraded Konz's grade to a 7.0. He talks about Josh Norman, how good he is and how he got 3 picks in 1 day in practice in the Shrine game. And how unusual that is in a all star game. He discusses Akiem Hicks as a NT. And Brandon Banks, the huge OG from Miami of Ohio.

I saw this on NFL Network tonight. This is a link to all of his initial top 5 at each position. Of note, he ranks Leonard Johnson the #4 CB and Dre Kirkpatrick the # 5 CB

If DeCastro is not available at 14 this is my guy. His athleticism is immediately obvious and he looks to be one of the top pass rushers available. Good by Almost Anthony.

Retitled: "Hey, Jerry, could you STFU?" Love, Fernie.

If Jones is willing to dis one of the few bright spots on the team publicly, he may not plan on having Romo around after the latter's contract expires year after next. Me? I think Jerry needs to look in the mirror if he wants to pinpoint to the biggest difference between the Giants and the Cowboys. Thanks to texstar for calling my attention to this. Edited: Couldn't resist the retitling after a good night's sleep. :)

Janoris Jenkins - Elite CB Prospect (Video)

+

Video of Jenkins going up against two very elite WR's in Julio Jones and A.J. Green. You'll notice a lot of the negatives are in the run game, and one of them is an amazing catch by Green. I think his time at Florida is a good gauge of how good this guy really is, I'm and Iowa fan, but there are very few people on this planet that would disagree when I say SEC football is the best, and Jenkins played outstanding against two elite SEC WR's, who just happened to have very good rookie season in the NFL

Raf chats with KC Joyner on cornerbacks

+

They talk about Rogers, FInnegan and Carr. I found this article very informative, like most of KC Joyner's work. Though I'm a fan of Rogers, and they leave out in their contract discussion that he has had great years in the past (I believe he was a stud in 2007), I would worry about age with him and I'm not in favor of signing the guy. We are not one year away barring a significant pass rush upgrade, why sacrifice the cap? Finnegan I'd be down for. I agree, Finnegan would own those Philly wrs. I also don't think we can be beggars and choosers - not many wrs are capable of shutting down a healthy Nicks. If our criteria is "he needs to shut down Hakeem Nicks", well that limits the nfl talent pool to under 15 and the FA talent pool to 0.

NC State CB David Amerson - An Eye to the Future

Forget reaching or trading up for any CB prospects this year. THIS IS THE GUY I WANT NEXT YEAR, or whenever he enters the draft as he is a junior next year. Got 9 starts as a freshman at the boundary corner position. As a sophomore he registered 13 interceptions in 2011. 2 were in the Belk Bowl. He is listed at 6' 3" and 194 lbs on the NC State website. He is basically Dre Kirkpatrick with ball skills. No trading up for corners this year. I say wait and grab this guy next year at all costs. If you have to do a Julio Jones trade for it then I say do it, but nab this guy. Some interceptions can be lucky but it takes something special to get 13 in a season no matter who you play.
